Tentative deal in place?

Breaking news is that Senate President Bob Burns has announced an agreement to put a temporary sales tax hike on the 2010 ballot.  Sounds great and all but what about the 2010 and first half of 2011 budgets?

I'm just glad to see they are working on something.

To me that doesn't sound like a deal, that sounds like Burns and Company caved on Brewer's 5th point. They could have saved a cartload of anticipation and told the public that they never intended to oppose a sales tax increase in the first place.

As for not a special election, what other kind of statewide election is there prior to November 2010?
